Buy Mini Blender

A personal blender is a great way to make personal-sized blends that you can easily take with you on the go. They generally excel at making smoothies, and they tend to come with differently-sized single-serve jars. While they're not as versatile as full-size models, have very simple controls, and can't hot blend, they're a great choice for making smaller-portioned mixes.

We've tested more than 20 personal blenders, and below are our recommendations for the best options, whether you're looking for the best personal smoothie blender or don't have space for a full-size blender in your kitchen. If you want more options for making single-serve smoothies, check out our list of the best bullet blenders. The Ninja Foodi Power Nutri DUO is the best personal blender that we've tested. If you're looking for a smoothie maker, it's a fantastic option, and its overall performance even rivals some full-size models. It's partly because of its 'smoothie bowl maker', a jar with rotating arms inside of it that allows it to easily process hard ingredients like nuts and make very smooth, spreadable nut butter. It comes with a pair of personal jars that you can use to blend extremely silky smoothies with fibrous elements like kale. Add in its fantastic ice-crushing ability, and you have a compact, multi-purpose blender that can help with everything from smoothies to hummus to slushies.

If you're looking for a simple, inexpensive blender, the best personal smoothie blender we've tested is the Oster MyBlend. This blender's bottle-shaped jar comes in a few different colors and gives it a sporty look. Like the previous picks, the lid for the jar has a resealable spout, so you can bring a smoothie or protein shake to go. It also has a plastic loop to hang it from a bag or backpack. However, its overall performance isn't as strong as the previous picks. It doesn't make snow-like crushed ice and doesn't process fibrous ingredients as smoothly, but can still break up ice cubes for something like a protein shake and make a very well-blended kale smoothie with just some small grains left over.

Its 34-ounce jar has a shorter, wider shape than the jars that come with most personal blenders, which might make it a little less convenient to use as a travel cup. Then again, it comes with a drinking lid with a screw-on cap. This blender can handle tough blends and is exceptionally easy to use for thicker dips and spreads like nut butter. It doesn't crush ice as well as the Ninja, which might bother you if you like making drinks like slushies, but ice cubes in a smoothie recipe or a small batch of ice for cocktails are no problem. The jar's ribbed design gives it a premium look but makes it harder to clean by hand than most picks here since food tends to get trapped in the ridges.

If space is at a premium in your kitchen and you want a blender that can go in a cupboard when you're not using it, the best small blender we've tested is the Magic Bullet Mini. True to its name, this blender is smaller and shorter than the other personal blenders here. It's more likely to fit under a cabinet or on a shelf, even with the jar docked on the base. It's also the lightest, so it's not too inconvenient to bring out when you need it. As you might expect, the jar's 14-ounce capacity is also the smallest on the list. Still, it does a better job of processing fibrous ingredients than the similarly-priced Oster MyBlend, meaning it can make a kale or blueberry smoothie with almost no grains or leafy bits left over.

Unlike the other blenders listed here, it doesn't have a resealable to-go lid for the jar. There's a cup ring that screws onto the rim of the jar to make it easier to drink from, so you can save some dishes and drink right from the jar at home. Unfortunately, it's not intended for crushing ice on its own. You can add an ice cube or two to a smoothie, but it's not suitable for making ice to add to cocktails. It's also not as well-built as the other blenders here, including the Oster, since it's entirely made of plastic that doesn't feel very durable or premium. The jar and cup ring are dishwasher-safe, but the blade assembly needs to be cleaned by hand. Still, if you're looking for the best mini blender, it's worth considering.

The best portable personal blender that we've tested is the BlendJet 2. This blender is around the same price as the Magic Bullet Mini and isn't as good at processing stubborn elements like leafy greens or fruit skins. If you're looking for something you can take to work or on a trip, it's the best battery-powered option we've tested. It's small enough to fit into a backpack or a big purse, and the lid has a built-in loop to make it easier to carry or hang from your bag. It charges with a USB-C to USB-A cable, and the manufacturer advertises it to last for about 15 20-second blending cycles. It also comes in different colors and patterns to suit your style.

Our above recommendations are what we think are currently the best small blenders for most people. We factor in the price (a cheaper blender wins over a pricier one if the difference isn't worth it), feedback from our visitors, and availability (no blenders that are difficult to find or almost out of stock everywhere).

If you want to choose for yourself, here is the list of all our personal blender reviews. Be careful not to get too caught up in the details. While no blender is perfect, most blenders are great enough to please almost everyone, and the differences are often not noticeable unless you look for them.

High-powered portable blender that puts most other blenders to shame. With 4x stainless steel blades and a powerful motor means you can turn frozen fruits, nuts, leafy greens and more into the perfect smoothie in 30 seconds.

Blend the perfect smoothies at breakfast, party with your girls and make frozen cocktails, make chunk-free protein shakes at the gym, enjoy barista-quality lattes at your desk or blend anytime and anywhere with this easy-to-use, portable blender.

I hardly write reviews but this blender deserves one. This blender is perfect! It not only blends frozen fruit but it crushes ice so well too. It's easy to clean and it fits in the cup holder in my car. I'm so glad I decided to try this blender.

I love this blender. I use it every morning to make fresh smoothies, and it is perfect for that. I also use it to blend up baby food for my baby. It's great for that as well. It is very easy to clean, and it is lightweight and portable. This blender is the best.

I bought this blender a couple weeks ago and I have been using it almost every day. It blends perfectly. It blends even the ice cubes, and the frozen fruits go in perfectly. I used it to make smoothies, and they are just perfect.

I wanted something that blended food but that was also quiet enough that I could use it in the morning while my family is sleeping. This blender is great because it is quiet, but it is also very powerful. It blends everything that I put in it! I am very happy with my purchase.

This is the best blender I've ever owned. It's quiet, lightweight, and it blends everything (frozen fruit, ice, veggies, etc.) to an absolute smooth consistency. It's so easy to clean and the battery lasts a long time. I definitely recommend this product.

This blender is amazing. It's got great power and it blends everything easily. I used it to blend up some frozen fruit, some ice, and some veggies, and it blended it all with no problem at all. It's so easy to clean and it's so easy to use. I love it.

There are lots of different models and no right choice, as it depends on how you want to use the blender. If you travel a lot and want a blender that you can throw in your luggage, then size is all-important. Look for a smaller, lighter blender, even if you have to compromise on a smaller travel mug as a result.

For home use, you may find it useful to get a blender with different accessories, such as a chopping bowl for preparing ingredients for cooking, or a grinder for dealing with spices.

If you want to vary what you can make, and have more control over the process, a full-size blender makes sense and, as our guide showed, you can always add a travel cup to your model to give you that blend-and-go convenience.

We've tested the best personal blenders, including corded and cordless models, for everything from power to portability, blending function and ease of cleaning, putting them through their paces for everything from smoothies to salsas to ensure we can report back meticulously on performance, weight and ease of use.

While the on-the-go, take it to the gym portability is the main reason you might want to buy a portable blender, don't think these compact wonders can't do everything the bigger traditional best blenders can. Most personal blenders can take on the same blending tasks, just in smaller quantities, which might just suit you perfectly.

Ease of useThis single-speed blender is also really easy to use: everything gets loaded into a cup, then you press down to engage the motor. It features the same Auto-iQ programming found in its countertop blenders, like the Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System, to take the guesswork out of blending. There are travel lids for the included 18oz and 24oz cups, and everything (including the blades) can go in the dishwasher.

Best for home useThis model is corded, and the base is chunky too, but you do get greater capacity and a powerful blend. This, we think, makes it a good middle ground for any of you who don't have space for or need a bulky traditional blender, or who want one for their RV. It's not one you're going to take to the gym, which is why it's number two on our list.

We're big fans of the Ninja brand and this portable blender is on our testing wait list; it makes this list because we've previously reviewed the earlier Nutri Pro model, which has 900W of power; this one has even more to offer, and 96% of independent, verified users on Amazon recommend it 041b061a72
